The building was specifically designed to facilitate the processing of air freight, accommodate the state of the art sortation equipment and streamline vehicle movements. The structure consists of large span steel portal frames, lightweight cladding and a post-tensioned ground floor slab. Through early design input the overall building footprint and structural layouts were optimised resulting in efficient use of standard stock steel lengths which facilitated rapid construction on-site.

Courier Post
The Courier Post development consists of 12,500m² of warehouse space located directly adjacent to the runway extension which forms the freight apron processing the majority of the air freight at Christchurch Airport. The development also includes 1300m² of single storey office space.
