Detailed repair and seismic strengthening works sensitive to the original heritage fabric were completed in 2016 allowing The Shrine to be used again for the school’s annual ANZAC day service.
The works involved local re-building of the parapet, including replacement of portions of the rubble core with reinforced concrete bond beams concealed behind the dressed ashlar stonework and the installation of steel bracing struts carefully concealed behind the parapet.
