To reach these low cost levels required very cost effective structural solutions and simple yet clever detailing. Modular layouts, standardized connections and maximizing off-site fabrication allowed the superstructure to be constructed in less than 8 weeks. The use of prefabricated pre-lined timber framed wall and roof panels was unique for school design in New Zealand and allowed the project to be handed over 6 weeks ahead of schedule.

The successful completion of this innovative school has led to further education projects utilizing similar structural solutions.
