A considered and sympathetic approach to mounting the Pare was required that was both safe and durable but also concealed and did not detract from the carving. This was achieved with a carefully detailed lightweight steelwork bracing frame attached to the timber which also served as a lifting frame.

Christchurch Boys' High School has a strong Maori tradition. A beautiful symbol of this is the carefully carved and finished timber Pare which is suspended above the entry to the schools new Assembly Hall.
