The building was constructed on a challenging site surrounded by historic brick buildings, and overlooks Cathedral Square. It originally connected to the adjacent historic Warners Hotel Building, which unfortunately has been demolished following the recent earthquake activity.

Construction consists of insitu concrete basement including tension screw piles, complex temporary retaining system, combination of precast and insitu primary shearwall elements, structural steel gravity frames, Tray-dec flooring system, and precast cladding panels.
